Attorney Gatten is pleased to be practicing Law in Waynesburg and Greene County and serving the people of the area. Luke, as he is known by his friends and family, received his Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law in 2018 and was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in October 2018. He was also admitted to the Western District of Pennsylvania in the same year. While in Law School, Luke was President of the Christian Legal Society and the Executive Editor of Joule, Duquesne’s environment and energy law journal. His undergraduate studies were completed at Washington & Jefferson College near his hometown in Washington, Pennsylvania, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2015 with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Music. Luke attended Bentworth High School and still lives in the Bentworth School District.
Luke has interned with the Washington County Court of Common Pleas, Southwestern PA Legal Aid, The Pennsylvania House of Representatives in the 49th District and for the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas in the Family Division. Attorney Gatten is engaged in the general practice of law and represents clients in matters including estate planning concerning wills, power of attorneys, advanced medical directives, guardianships, other estate and trusts matters, title examinations, oil and gas matters, domestic relations, civil litigation, landlord-tenant disputes, real estate sales, juvenile matters, guardianships, business entity formations and other civil matters
Luke lives on the Gatten family farm in Scenery Hill, PA that has been in his family for more than 100 years. There, he helps raise more than 200 katahdin breed sheep with his wife, Elizabeth, and family. Luke is a member at North Ten Mile Baptist Church. Luke is a Trustee at North Ten Mile, he serves on their Cemetery Association, is a Sunday school teacher for the Sunday School, is on the pastoral relations committee and serves as an organist during worship services. He loves spending time in the outdoors whenever he can be. Luke also enjoys being involved with Camp Carmel, a Christian Youth Camp in Dunbar, PA where he serves as a member of the board of directors. Luke spent many summers at Camp Carmel where he grew to love the Lord and gained many friends and experiences over the years.
